From the Founding Artistic Director
Dear Friends:
I’m thrilled to invite you to our fifth full season of Berkeley Playhouse productions in 2012-13.
If you’ve attended any of our recent performances, you know that we take seriously the three characteristics we require of all Berkeley Playhouse mainstage shows. They must be:
Intelligent / Relevant / Soul-stirring
We strive to make every piece we produce fresh and inventive – even timeless classics like the ones we share with you in 2012-2013: The Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls, and The Wiz. And of course, our high quality, audience pleasing youth shows. We are especially excited to include a reading of our new work Selma this May.
Our mission is to change the lives of children and families through the magic of live theatre but the success of Berkeley Playhouse lies with you – the audience, the student, the funder.
Subscribe Today! Our season subscribers get great discounts on a season full of shows, all seats are reserved, and only subscribers are assured a seat for the special reading of Selma!
Become a student or performer – we have a thriving conservatory of classes and programs – all led by professional directors and teaching artists.
Consider making a donation to Berkeley Playhouse. We could not operate without the generous support of theatre-lovers like you.
I hope you and your whole family will join us for a season of unforgettable music theatre right here at the historic Julia Morgan theatre, in the beautiful neighborhood of the Elmwood in the heart of bustling Berkeley!
Sincerely,
Elizabeth McKoy
