Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Reserve Seats?:

When you purchased your subscription you received a confirmation email with a PASSCODE for each type of pass you purchased.   For the smoothest redemption, write down those codes below and keep them handy to enter as per instructions below.  (Don’t worry if you don’t have codes when booking, they will also appear on the final purchase page of your transaction.)

 ADULT CODE: ____________SENIOR CODE:___________

YOUTH CODE:____________TOT CODE:____________

30 & UNDER CODE:____________

YOUTHSTAGE SHOW PASS CODE:____________

For the smoothest experience redeeming your tickets we recommend the following:

  1. Go to the BOX-OFFICE on our website www.berkeleyplayhouse.org and choose PURCHASE TICKETS from the drop-down menu.
  2. Under the heading 2012-2013 season subscriptions in the right-hand column, enter the PASSCODE for your first pass type (Adult, Youth, Child, Senior or 30 & Under) and click accept.  Before proceeding, continue to enter additional passcodes.  Click accept until you have entered all of the passcodes in your order.  This will allow you to choose all of the seats in your purchase at once.  NOTE: If you are not intending to book your YouthStage performance now, you do not need to enter the YouthStage code.  Only enter this code when you are ready to select the production and date you are attending.
  3. Click Check Dates/Buy Tickets, choose your date and select your seats.  You can either choose to click SELECT MORE to reserve seats for the rest of the shows in your subscription or choose CHECKOUT to reserve them later.  NOTE: When you are return to redeem your next set of shows, please start at #1.
  4. A REMINDER: The WEEKNIGHT SUPER SAVER package is valid for Thurs and Fri Night Performances of Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls and Disney’s Mulan Jr. only.  The OPEN ACCESS PASS is valid for any performance of Sound of Music, Guys and Dolls and Disney’s Mulan Jr.  IMPORTANT: When you proceed to checkout, make sure to select the person type that matches each subscription; Adult/30 & Under/Youth/Senior/Tot, otherwise you will be charged for any price discrepancies.  Your balance at check-out should always be 0.  If you don’t show a balance of 0, please click the back button to correct.  Please note: We cannot issue refunds.  Call 510-845-8542 x351 or write to boxoffice@berkeleyplayhouse.org or subscriptions@berkeleyplayhouse.org if you have any questions or concerns.

How do I make exchanges?

Easy: After you’ve made a seat reservation for a show you should receive a ticket confirmation email.  If you do not receive one, it may be trapped in your spam filter.  (You’ll need to go into your SPAM filter and ‘allow’ Ticket Turtle and Berkeley Playhouse.  If it’s not there, please check that we have the most up-to-date email address for you in our system.)

To make an exchange, simply click the blue exchange link (the second link down) in your seat reservation confirmation email.  You have the flexibility to exchange your seats or your date.

What happens if I cannot make a show?  Can I transfer or double up my tickets to another show in season?

No: Unfortunately we cannot allow tickets from one show to be transferred to another.  If you cannot make the date you reserved, your first option is to exchange the date.  If you cannot make any date in the run and have to miss a show in your package altogether, or you decide you do not want to see a show in your package, you are welcome to gift your tickets to a friend, or let us know, and we will gift them to a family in need.  Sorry, we can’t accumulate missed tickets and add them to shows in this season or the next.  All gifted tickets are tax deductible up to the value of the ticket.

How do I redeem my subscription and purchase an extra ticket at the same time?

Follow the guidelines for redeeming your subscription on the previous page.  Enter all your applicable codes and when it comes to selecting seats, click the actual total amount you want to purchase.  At checkout you will be prompted to select your ticket types for each ticket.  Select the ticket types you have in your subscription and the ticket type of the extra tickets you have reserved.  You will only be charged for those tickets not in your subscription.  You will need to give your credit card number to complete the purchase.  Please call or email if you need assistance.

What time is the Box Office open?
