Berkeley Playhouse is excited to announce casting for The Sound of Music. Music by Richard Rogers, Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, Book by Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse. Suggested by “The Story of the Trapp Family Singers”

About the show:
The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Based on the true story of the Trapp Family Singers, The Sound of Music is the story of a high-spirited postulant who is dispatched from the abbey serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her warmth and generosity of spirit wins over the children, and the heart of Captain Von Trapp. In their new life together, the von Trapp family faces the eve of World War II and the Nazi invasion of Austria with love, loyalty and bravery.
Seeking AEA and Non-AEA men and women for the roles of Maria, Elsa, and Ensemble
The roles of the von Trapp children will be played by youth and teens (grades 3-12). Auditions for these roles will be conducted separately, date TBA.
Auditions: Saturday, April 14 3:00-5:30pm
Sat. @ 2pm & 7pm
Sun. @ 12pm & 5pm
