Disney’s “My Son Pinocchio”

Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as master woodcarver, Geppetto, becomes a real live father when his curious puppet, Pinocchio, changes from an awkward wooden marionette to a real, live boy, foibles and all! Master melodist Stephen Schwartz adds a compelling score of original songs to the beloved classics “I’ve Got No Strings” and “When You Wish Upon a Star” to create a fresh, heartwarming musical that all ages will enjoy. Join us in a gum-snapping, hip-shaking, hot-rockin’ musical about love and friendship in the 50’s! School’s back from summer and the senior class is gathering for their final year at Rydell High. As head “greaser” Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski relive the romance of their “Summer Nights” it becomes clear that both need to change their perspective! Sassy, funny – evocative and provocative, this infectious musical showcases all
that was fantastic about the fifties: rock n’ roll numbers that recall the music of Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Elvis Presley – plus hot-roddin, ducktailed ‘burger palace boys” and bobby-soxed, pink-jacket ladies!

The jungle is jumpin’ with jazz is this exciting Disney classic, also including some of Rudyard Kipling’s “Just So Stories” in Act One! Join Mowgli, Baloo, King Louie and the gang as they swing their way through madcap adventures and thwart the ferocious tiger, Shere Khan. Specially adapted from the beloved film, this musical includes all your favorite Disney tunes, like “The Bare Necessities,” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.” This production takes place on the jungle set of Seussical, the Musical which is playing on our main stage. The Barber’s thirst for blood soon expands to include his unfortunate customers and the resourceful proprietress of the pie shop downstairs soon has the people of London lining up in droves with her mysterious new meat pie recipe! Madame’s jealous butler Edgar cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in the Parisian countryside. Luckily, Thomas O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their rescue! Bravado – A Middle School Musical

A group of talented middle school friends are vying to get into a prestigious Performing Arts school but as the audition process reveals, it’s not only a test of your skills but a test of all the relationships around you. What if you get in and your best friend doesn’t? What if it’s your mother that wants you to get in, but you really don’t? What about all those people who deserve to get in but have not had the same privileges in schooling and experience? Bravado was Berkeley Playhouse’s first commissioned original work showcasing the writing talents of musical team Phil Gorman and Lila Tschappat and book writer, Laura Marlin. Little Shop of Horrors
Performances February 12 & 13, 2011
Seymour is a poor young man working at a flower shop on skid row when he encounters an alien plant after a total eclipse of the sun. The plant will bring him fame, fortune, and love – as long as he keeps it alive – but unfortunately its liquid of choice is human blood! Poignant and hilarious, this sqewered tale, packed with skid row’s finest characters also features jazzy, catchy music, dance and song. Rehearsals start mid-December.
Auditions for “Little Shop of Horrors” are now complete. Enrollment in our Teen Company program is by audition/invite only.
