Music Theatre Core Classes

Makebelievers: Your favorite stories come to life with the magic of theatre-making, singing, dancing and creative storytelling. Sections of this class are offered for toddlers and pre-schoolers.

Song & Dance: A beginning music theater skills class for elementary-aged performers. Learn basic singing and dancing skills while performing to fun, upbeat production numbers from much-loved musical plays.

Music Theatre Playlab: Students fall in love with storytelling by learning valuable acting, improv and character work while exploring the story and themes from a musical theater show. Music TheatreLabs are inspired by one of our mainstage productions each season, and culminate in a studio sharing based on exercises and production numbers learned throughout the class.

Music Theatre Dance: A fun and fast-paced dance training program that focuses on jazz for the musical theatre stage. Classes in the dance program immerse the student in style, technique, stage formations, and performance quality using choreography sequences from classic to contemporary music theatre pieces. Classes are structured according to age, experience and ability level.

Studio One-Acts: Scripted, rehearsed productions that culminate in a studio performance. Directed by professional directors, students in this class learn acting and stage skills through a rehearsal process. Participation is open to members of the youth company as well as new students with some previous stage experience.

Music Theatre for Adults: A fun, creative and supportive place to learn the basics, or polish a piece for an upcoming audition. Small class environment, with one-on-one attention from the supportive teaching artist. The class focuses on acting as well as singing and basic movement. New and returning students of all ages and ability levels are welcome.

Winter break,  Spring Break and Summer Camps: These special day camps immerse students in the magical world of music theatre, with training in acting, singing and dancing. The theme of these fun, introductory camps changes from season to season – but the camps are always designed to be fun and educational.

Youth Company and Youth Company Training:
Youth Company Members train in our Conservatory for their roles in Youth and Professional productions.  Auditions are required.
