Thank you so much for helping to make the Berkeley Playhouse 2009-2010 season a huge success!  In order for us to continue to provide programs and performances that are of the highest quality, we need the financial support of friends like you.  Here are just a few of the highlights of the past season:

• Installed a brand new lighting system and state-of-the art Meyer sound system, replacing equipment that was decades out-of-date.
• Increased enrollment in our Conservatory Programs (classes and camps for all ages) by nearly 50% over the previous year.
• Booked over 14,000 tickets to our professional and youth shows.
• Served nearly 1,000 students from elementary, middle and high schools in Berkeley and Oakland with TheatreReach, our school outreach program that provides live performances and educational workshops.

In honor of the 100^th anniversary of our new home, the historic Julia Morgan Center (erected in 1910 as St. John’s Church), we are recruiting the help of people like you who understand how important the building and our programs are to the local community and the Greater East Bay cultural landscape.

Our goal in this first-ever annual campaign is to raise $100 from 100 new donors for the 2010-2011 season…But any amount you can give will be put to good use!

Funds raised from this drive will be used to pay for additional upgrades to the audience and performer areas of the theater, fund teaching artists and other costs associated with TheatreReach, and provide general operating support for the organization, which – believe it or not – only gets about 24% of its annual budget from ticket sales.
